Glamoroso!

(1) The High Society of Saint-Tropez

The jet set chose Saint-Tropez as the place to celebrate the advent of the sexual revolution. Prince Eduard von Anhalt, a cousin of King Charles, still marvels at the Sixties, when women on the Tropezienne beaches tossed their bikini tops. Since those days of liberation, the Provençal village hasn’t had a quiet summer night.

Millionaires, yachts, champagne and girls: Saint-Tropez is still a beauty, but in summer sometimes a bit confused. And it is rarely as romantic as Gunter Sachs was, when he let roses rain from a helicopter over Brigitte Bardots house.

Gunter Sachs granted us a long interview at home, overlooking the famous Plage de Paimplonne. Actor Mario Adorf talks about the good old days, when he first met his wife, a born Tropezienne. German cult-composer Peter Thomas („Space Patrol“, „Edgar Wallace“, „Jerry Cotton“) and his journalist-wife Cordy Thomas have their summer residence here. They all try to ignore rich kids like African dictator‘s son Theodore Nguema Obiang, when they‘re strolling around in the former fisherman‘s place.
