Four Weddings And No Funeral

Four Couples On Marriage Or Not Marriage?

Having a dream wedding has become trendy again — preferably with a carriage, veil and cameras documenting every step, but most importantly: The perfect scenery. Just like the picturesque buildings of Franconian Würzburg, a popular backdrop for wedding photos, for which Frau Stadler and Herr Vogt have travel all the way from Berlin.

The Langers are from the area, planning to celebrate with three opera singers and 350 guests — a grandiose spectacle. The more beautiful the wedding, the less likely a divorce?

There are, however, alternatives to the traditional dream wedding: Henning Dageförde offers a very personal ceremony with his company “Trau-Dich-Agentur.” Margot and Uwe are saying yes in their own home, a ceremony outside the conventions of the church, although not without a white dress and solemn pledges.

Connie and Timmie, on the other hand, leave their families and friends behind, breaking all conventions and traditions: a wedding in Las Vegas, where a ceremony takes only seven minutes. FOUR WEDDINGS AND NO FUNERAL accompanies the four couples on their different ways to saying yes. Finding a dress, wedding pictures, big plans and hopes, and also fears and organizational hiccups: the way to a perfect and unique day — and all that in a time when over 40% of all marriages end in divorce.
