RUSSIA FROM ABOVE
CINEMA RELEASE ON 27TH FEBRUARY

Russia from above will be released in German cinemas from February 27th, in Cinemascope and 5.1 Surround Sound, and also in 4K format on selected screens. The film has been completely redesigned for the cinema. The narrator of the 120-minute film is Benjamin Völz, known as the German dubbing voice of stars like Keanu Reeves. The film is distributed by FILMWELT and is also shown in German cinemas in the English dubbed version (with John Malkovich) and in Russian. The 5-part television series of the same name achieved record ratings and delighted a total of 30 million viewers on ZDF and ARTE.

For true fans of Russia from Above there is now out the abundantly illustrated official book on the film, issued by Germany’s second oldest publishing house Hoffmann und Campe (hardcover, 240 pages, 275 images, 32 Euro). Bluray and DVD are available for the 5 x 45 minutes tv series with both English and German narration to select. The wonderful original score by Boris Salchow, played by the symphonic Budapest Art Orchestra, is available for download from 600 platforms worldwide, also under the English title Russia from Above and the French La Russie vue du ciel.

LIVE IN CONCERT

The Russia from Above live concert event will tour a number of major cities around the world in 2020 including the Moswow Concervatory Philharmonic Hall on the 4th April 2020. Boris Salchow’s original music score will be performed live by big symphonic orchestras, while the 4k images will be shown on giant screens. A tour of Germany is in preparation as well as a concert tour of Russia and additional performances in London, Paris and New York. More information on dates, venues and tickets soon.

The 90 minutes version of our production 'Russia From Above' was honoured with the Gold Medal Award at this year’s New York Festival © 2019.

With entries from over 50 countries, our production was in strong competition at the New York Festival © which honoures the 'World’s Best TV and Films' every year. Since our productions 'Migrating Birds - Scouts of Distant Worldsand Automatic Brainwon the price in 2017 and 2012, this is already the third Gold Medal Award for colourFIELD.

PREMIERE AT MOSCOWS
DOKER-FILM-FESTIVAL

A 93 minutes special version of Russia from Above premiered as the opening film of Moscow’s International Documentary Film Festival Doker 2019. The shorter edit version was narrated by Russian cult star actor Victor Sukhorukov. The sold-out premiere on 3rd April 2019 in Russia’s largest movie theatre Oktyabr was attended by an audience of 1,600. Festival director Irina Shatalova welcomed ZDF director of culture programmes, Peter Arens, along with the keynote speaker, the Ambassador of Germany to Russia, Herr Rüdiger von Fritsch, and the vice chairman of the Russian parliament Duma, Mrs Olga Epifanova.

MIGRATING BIRDS IS AWARDED
ON GERMAN FESTIVALS

Our 90 minutes production was honoured with the Heinz Sielmann Filmpreis at the 11th International Wildlife Film Festival Green Screen which takes place in Eckernförde (Schleswig-Holstein) and was, apart from this, awarded as Best Science Film. Green Screen International Wildlife Film Festival is one of the biggest festival of its kind in Europe.

Furthermore, Migrating Birds received the German NatureFilm Prize 2017 for Best Script. Quote of the jury: „The film conveys the most recent research about migrating birds in a dramaturgical thrilling and touching way. We accompany single birds from their birth to their flight over the continents. Migrating Birds - Scouts of Distant Worlds has been again awarded twice.

Our 90 minutes production was honoured with the Heinz Sielmann Filmpreis at the 11th International Wildlife Film Festival Green Screen which takes place in Eckernförde (Schleswig-Holstein) and was, apart from this, awarded as Best Scientific Film. Founded in 2007, Green Screen International Wildlife Film Festival has established itself as a yearly event pulling audiences of 30,000 visitors thus and grown into the biggest festival of its kind in Europe.

Migrating Birds was also awarded the Silver Hugo in the category Non-Fiction at the 53rd Chicago International Television Festival. Soul-Singer THEO recorded a new album in Los Angeles, with all new self-written songs, featuring a bunch of fantastic session musicians. The band members played in studios and on stage with the likes of James Brown or Aretha Franklin. We produced the videos of the album title-song Heart of Soul and also for Songs of Marvin Gaye. Plus the making-of from THEO’s recording sessions in L.A.

DORTMUND FROM ABOVE WITH LIVE ORCHESTRA

On January 23rd 2017 Dortmund´s Mayor Ullrich Sierau will welcome his guests to the yearly New Year Reception at Dortmund´s concert hall of the „Philharmonie Westfalens“. Dortmund´s Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Gabriel Feitz will accompany live our film „Dortmund From Above - Special“. The orchestra of 70 musicians will play live to the overwhelming aerials of our town Dortmund. The soundtrack composed by Boris Salchow who lives and works in Hollywood.

GERMAN MYTHS SINCE 1945:
EXHIBITION AT HOUSE OF HISTORY

Until 15th Januar 2017 the great exhibition German Myths since 1945 can be seen at the House of History of Germany (Contemporary History Forum Leipzig). The show includes video excerpts from colourFIELD productions. Doors open Tuesdays to Sundays, entrance is free. From Germany’s world cup triumph in 1954 to Volkswagen Beetle to German Economic Miracle.

Migrating Birds at the movies

Migrating Birds - Scouts Of Distant Worlds premiered on a cinema screen during the 8th Zugvogeltage of the National Park Wattenmeer. Our arte production Migrating Birds - Scouts Of Distant Worlds was shown very successfully twenty times in several cinemas in the region of the Lower Saxony Wattenmeer islands and region during the Zugvogeltage Festival from the 8th - 16th of October 2016.
