The Lure Of BRAVO, The World‘s Ultimate Teenage Mag
BRAVO, most successful magazine next to SPIEGEL and STERN, celebrated its 40th anniversary in 1996. Always reflection of the current youth, the magazine covers all the interests of its young readers – a loyal companion in puberty.
The journalists Petra Höfer and Freddie Röckenhaus documented the work of BRAVO, ranging from photo-shootings, „Love & Sex-Report“ and the creation of a photo-story to fashion tips and letters to the editor, had a look in the archives with footage even of the Beatles and Rolling Stones and gave the word to BRAVO staff members as well as its readers.
Sex education and socialization, a constant struggle between being indexed as harmful content and the pressure to adequately educate the youth, BRAVO offers everything from entertainment to advice and critical reflection on topics such as pollution and sexual assault. Every generation seems to get the BRAVO they deserve.
